X & Y are characters from my novel 'NAUNET: The Labours of Animus'. X & Y are known as the Children of Metatron, two uniquely formed beings made from a rare all powerful element known as Anti-Magic. Today, X & Y have made their home in the mountains towering Khematia, the most strategic location for one to either attack or defend the great empire. As fate would have it, the siblings are friends of Khematia, and are two of the four founders of the Legion of Animus, the Earth Realm's sworn protectors of mankind from supernatural threats of divine nature. X & Y are the highest ranking commanders of the Legion of Animus, under Animus, the son of Ra himself. X & Y form a pair in the legion, but X tends to think himself one and equal to Animus. Y on the other hand has great respect for Animus, and only ever refers to him as the son of Ra. Many millenia ago, while Animus was the NTRW (Netchru) god, Hrẇ (Heru) he rebelled against his father Ra and the other Skyfathers for their abusive cosmic domain expansion wars in the Earth Realm and the toll it took on mortals. Hrẇ sided with mankind. Ra was furious and went to war with his son and mankind. After a battle that seemed to have no end, Ra finally defeated Hrẇ and was ready to make an example out of his son and mankind for betraying him. Mankind begged Ra to spare Hrẇ, for Hrẇ was the saviour. But Ra silenced them with his Daughters, Sekhmet and Maau Aa, the Eyes of Ra. Therefore mankind called out to Metatron to save Hrẇ. As Ra was ready to unleash his fury on Hrẇ, Metatron appeared, causing Ra to cease his punishment on his son. Metatron was the Super Archangel, one of the most powerful beings in existence. Hrẇ, though a NTRW god, was a disciple of Metatron and was also part of Metatron's domain of angelic beings, the Legion of Metatron. Mankind rejoiced over the arrival of Metatron to confront Ra. Metatron asked Ra to calm himself for the war had been won and many mortal lives were claimed. Metatron asked of Ra to allow his son Hrẇ to live with him on Earth. Before Ra could refuse, Metatron explained to Ra, that Metatron was becoming mortal and asked Ra to strip Hrẇ of his divine NTRW nature and make him mortal as well, that way he would no longer pose a threat to Ra as a human. Ra agreed and took Hrẇ's NTRW powers from him. The NTRW god Hrẇ disappeared and a boy with golden eyes remained. The boy had the same eyes as Ra. Ra looked into the boy's golden eyes, that burned like the sun, just like Ra's own. Ra shed a tear as he looked into the boy's eyes, unable to help but see his own self, his own humanity, despite his divinity as the king of the NTRW gods, and ultimately his own wrongs. Immediately the Eyes of Ra, Sekhmet and Maau Aa were pulled against their will from ravaging what remained of the human rebellion that fought alongside Hrẇ against Ra and the other Skyfathers, and returned to the heavenly abode of Ra, and into the eyes of the NTRW god of the sun. The war between mankind and Ra had finally ended, rejoicing echoed across the Earth Realm from the human beings that had fortunately survived. As Ra absorbed his Daughters into his eyes he stared into his son's eyes of innocence. Eyes that masked unconscious indignation and wrath for all the Skyfathers in heaven for the boy was the NTRW god Hrẇ no more and had lost all his memory. Ra brought his talons to his eye, drew on to it the light of the sun and took his tear to the boy. He touched the boy with the light of the sun and then asked Metatron to depart with the boy. Metatron named him Animus and took him to his abode in the Earth Realm. There Metatron raised Animus amongst two beings that were yet children that he had formed from a power that could defeat the gods; Anti-Magic. These children were X & Y. As Metatron became more and more human each day, he could no longer protect mankind as he once did with the Legion of Metatron. With little time remaining before Metatron fully expended all his divinity, he tasked Animus, X & Y to watch over mankind. He handed over some of what remained of his divinity to Animus. One faithful day, Metatron disappeared from the face of the Earth. In moments, word of Metatron's disappearance spread to the furthest recesses of the omniverses of Eternity to the great lament of myriads of beings and souls at the loss of the purest being Eternity had ever been loved by. Yet that same word reached the darkest corners of infinity and the forces of darkness took oppurtunity to travel across Eternity to invade the Earth Realm at this moment of vulnerability brought by Metatron's assumed demise. So Metatron's children, X, Y and Animus rose to the destiny their father chose them for and formed a new divine domain to protect mankind for eternity; The Legion of Animus. The Legion of Animus is comprised almost entirely of mortals, mainly young men native to Khematia, who are trained in the arts of Anti-Magic to defeat supernatural beings of all kinds.
