Tundrah Odinjárson is a character from my novel, 'NAUNET: The labours of Animus'. Tundrah is the Æsir god of Lightning. She is an adopted daughter of the Æsir Skyfather Odin like Anima making her and Anima adoptive sisters. Tundrah is likewise also an adoptive sibling to the Æsir god of Thunder, Thor and Loki the god of Mischief. Tundrah is the Valhalla Legion Commander of the Valkyrie. And though she is female she likens herself to a man and refuses to be addressed as one of the 'Ásynjurna' which is the equivalent of a goddess amongst the Æsir gods. Much of this is as a result of Thor's influence. Tundrah grew up as an orphan in war-torn Midgard before she was found by her now adoptive brother Thor and Odin and taken to Asgard. It is no surprise Tundrah takes after her brother Thor to the point of literally 'stealing his thunder' in immitating both his look and having just about the same powers and title as him as the Æsir god of Lightning. Not long after Tundrah was adopted by Odin she would secretly enter the Bifröst to follow the Æsir god of Thunder on domain expansion campaigns to Jotunheimr and the other 9 realms. Then another midgardian mortal arrived in Valhalla, also adopted by Odin. Her name was Anima. Soon enough the two orphan's from Midgard became acquainted, sharing a common upbringing and fate and became real sisters and rivals. Tundrah and Anima competed over everything and begged Odin to allow them to become Valkyries. Despite having arrived in Valhalla months before Anima, Tundrah struggled to use any magic at all. Anima was a prodigy and soon began teaching the Valkyries themselves magic even Odin had never seen or heard of before. Tundrah felt incompetent and Thor noticed this. Thor decided to relieve the Valkyrie of Tundrah as she could not focus on the battlefield, and was too busy trying to out do Anima instead of obey orders from the commanding Valkyries at the time. Thor took Tundrah with him to Niflheimr and together they fought the frost Jotnar, ice-giants native to that realm and the sworn nemesis of Odin and Asgard. Tundrah had one thing in common with Thor. Brute strength. Tundrah was good at destroying things, especially big things like Jotnar and she soon forgot about being scolded by the Valkyrie high command for insubordination and spent all her time training with her brother Thor and getting stronger in her own way. Before she knew it Tundrah began to conjure electricity from her punches and kicks, and magnetizing base metals to her body, and could now bring Mjolnir, Thor's hammer, to herself without an enchantment. Soon enough Tundrah outgrew Thor and decided to venture into Niflheimr by herself to deal with the Jotnar. Thor tried to stop her, claiming she was not ready and it was too dangerous, but Odin allowed Tundrah at Thor's disapproval, saying it was the only way Tundrah could truly bring herself to have respect for her own worthiness. Within months of training in Niflheimr by herself it was as if Tundrah had reached 'god' puberty and could throw lightning bolts out of thin air, making her a menace to the Jotnar. Not withstanding she still almost got herself killed on multiple occassions and every time Thor tried to intervene, Odin would stop him, forcing Tundrah to learn to survive in the frozen over hellscape of the Jotnar where an Æsir goddess like Tundrah was food for everything that walked. This insane survival regimen turned an eager orphan from Midgard into an indomitable god of Lightning. Tundrah was reborn. Once Tundrah bested the Jotnar and earned their respect on the battlefield, she won a territory in that realm all by herself, without the aid of Thor or Odin, and she was welcomed back to Valhalla by the Valkyrie and all the Aesir gods like a hero. Meanwhile Anima had become a commanding chief amongst the Valkyrie during that time, having won territories in other realms for Odin, and when Tundrah had been readmitted into their ranks, Tundrah refused to take any promotions and refused to fight alongside the Valkyrie. Tundrah would singlehandedly storm into the battlefield before her sisters and rain lightning upon their foes to oblivion. Though Tundrah's tactics greatly displeased the ranking Valkyrie command, Odin approved, as casualties amongst the Valkyrie had fallen to zero since Tundrah's return. Odin held another ceremony to select Valhalla's Legion Commander of the Valkyrie, to which all the Valkyrie were expected to attend. To Tundrah's surprise Odin had Anima at his side, and commanded the two sisters to duel each other for the position of commander of the Valkyrie. Tundrah immediately forfeited, at the great bewilderment of all in attendance. Anima herself was in doubt. Though Odin knew why he asked Tundrah for her reason for such uncharacteristic behaviour. Tundrah replied that Odin can chose who he desired, she was now a weapon like Thor. Odin smiled, awarding both Anima and Tundrah the same title as Valhalla Legion Commanders of the Valkyrie.
